Free School Meals
We encourage all parents/carers to check if their child is entitled to free school meals. Being registered for free school meals benefits the student and the school.
It is very important that we know who is entitled to FSM (Free School Meals), not only so that we can provide your child with a lunch free of charge, but also because the school will receive additional funding, which we use to support your child’s education and ensure that they reach their full potential.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO…
If you currently receive Universal Credit , you must complete the online form so that we can verify eligibility.
Failure to complete the form may result in your child losing their free school meal entitlement.

Further information
The government have increased the range of households eligible for free school meals and all parents must apply annually to renew their free school meals. It is important that you check (it takes 5 minutes!) as the school also receives additional funding to support eligible children in other areas of school.
Criteria
- Any household receiving Universal Credit (there is no longer an income threshold)
Other eligibility criteria
- Households may also qualify if parents/carers:
- Receive support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- Receive income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Receive the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Meet the criteria for families with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF)
Important information for current FSM families
Households must meet the updated eligibility criteria from the start of the 2026–2027 academic year in order to continue receiving free school meals.
Annual checks will be carried out to confirm ongoing eligibility.
If you currently receive Universal Credit or believe you meet the other eligibility criteria, you must complete the online form so that we can verify eligibility.
