Identity Day 2025
We had a genuinely brilliant day last Thursday. The whole school came together as one community to honour the stories, identities and cultural backgrounds that make MEA Central what it is. It was a day built around the power of stories – our own, our families’, and those from across the world – and a reminder that understanding each other is the foundation of a strong, inclusive school.
We heard from a number of our alumni who are now out in the world building their fantastic futures, showing our students exactly what is possible when hard work, ambition and belonging come together. Lunchtime karaoke showcased the talent, humour and confidence running through the school, and the live demonstration on knife crime gave students a hard reality check about choices, risk and staying safe.
Mr Walker returned to lead a celebration of dance and music, bringing an energy and joy that filled the theatre. Lunchtime saw students and staff sharing incredible food from a range of cultures – a genuine highlight – and the Punjab drummers transformed the courtyard into a festival of sound.
Everywhere you looked there was colour, pride and diversity in the outfits students chose to wear. It felt like MEA Central at its best: united, joyful and unapologetically ambitious for what our young people can become.
