MEA Central Awarded Prestigious Charter Mark for Outstanding Support to Displaced Students

MEA Central is incredibly proud to be the first secondary school in the Manchester local authority to be awarded the Government-backed Charter Mark Award. This prestigious award recognises our school's exceptional efforts in supporting displaced students who arrive from overseas, ensuring they receive the care and education they deserve.

MEA Central has long been a beacon of inclusivity and support, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds and providing them with a nurturing environment to thrive. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to address the unique challenges faced by displaced students, offering tailored educational programmes and emotional support to help them integrate smoothly into their new community.

Special recognition goes to the Admissions and Transition Team from the Skyline Department, who have also become certified Belonging Ambassadors via the scheme. Their commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion has been instrumental in helping displaced students feel at home at MEA Central.

The award was celebrated in style on 1st April with a graduation ceremony attended by MP Afzal Khan. MEA Central's achievement serves as an inspiring example of how schools can make a significant difference in the lives of displaced students, providing them with the stability and support they need to flourish. This award not only celebrates our accomplishments but also reinforces our mantra: MEA Central is for everybody!
