Orientation Day – Wednesday 3rd September 2025 

At the start of each academic year, we have a vital window of opportunity to set every student up for success. Our Orientation Day on Wednesday 3rd September is a cornerstone of that process. 

This dedicated day gives students across all year groups the chance to step back into school life with purpose. Through a bespoke timetable and practical, engaging sessions, we explicitly teach and rehearse the key routines, expectations and values that create the calm, focused, and respectful environment we are proud of. 

Rather than expecting students to simply "remember the rules," we believe in teaching behaviour just like we teach any subject – clearly, consistently and with time to practice. Students will take part in interactive sessions that help them build confidence and independence for the year ahead. 

Why Orientation Matters 
We know that starting strong leads to long-term success. When students know what’s expected, feel proud of their appearance, and are well prepared to learn, they’re more likely to thrive both academically and socially. Orientation ensures all students – new and returning – feel ready, supported, and motivated. 

For Year 7, Orientation Day is especially important. We want their first full experience of secondary school to be positive and memorable. They’ll take part in friendly, practical sessions with lots of encouragement and recognition for getting things right. 

To ensure a calm and purposeful start, students will return to school in a staggered manner on Orientation Day. This allows each year group to be welcomed back with focus and care and ensures that staff can give every student the support they need as they re-enter school life.
