Our Child Development course aims to develop students' citizenship through sensitivity and understanding by exploring a range of theoretical perspectives and practical skills within childcare. Students will delve into the complex factors that affect children's lives and discover ways to positively shape and influence their future.
We aim to prepare students for a wide range of careers working with children, young people, and communities. These include teaching, family support work, youth and community leadership, creative play therapy, and sports coaching.
Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the essential aspects of child growth and development from birth to five years, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed for life experiences and workplace settings. With an emphasis on the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, we support students' growth as individuals by enhancing their awareness, critical thinking, and practical application skills as learners. We aim to foster empathy, compassion, responsibility and ethical awareness as citizens. Not only enriching their academic experience but also shaping them into conscientious, proactive individuals ready to make meaningful contributions to society on their starting journey to their fantastic futures. By fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and reflective practices, the course aims to develop well-rounded individuals who are capable of making informed decisions and positively impacting the lives of children and their families.
