Head of Year Messages

Year 7 – Ms. C Gates

Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating this weekend! I hope it is a joyful and special time for you and your families. This week, Year 7 have focused on mindfulness, taking time to reflect and practice being present in the moment. Through our assemblies and House Art form sessions, students have explored different ways to look after their well-being, express themselves creatively, and find calm in their busy school days. It has been wonderful to see so many scholars engaging with these activities.

Excitement is building as we look forward to our Adventure Day trip to Liverpool next week! This will be a fantastic opportunity for students to explore a new city and learn about the Beatles! Please make sure students arrive on time, in uniform, and ready for an action-packed day.

Ms Gates

Year 8 – Ms. Bryan

This week has been a fantastic one for Year 8, filled with celebrations, achievements, and exciting plans for the weeks ahead!

Today, we held our Year 8 Celebration Assembly, where we honoured students for their outstanding achievements across all subjects. From exceptional effort in English and Maths to creativity in the Arts and resilience in PE, it was wonderful to see so many students being recognised for their hard work. We also applauded those with excellent attendance, reinforcing the importance of being in school every day. A huge well done to all our award winners – keep up the fantastic work!

A quick reminder that our Adventure Day trip is coming up next Thursday! Students will be visiting either Chester Zoo or the Safari Park, where they will have the chance to see incredible wildlife and take part in educational activities.

To mark the end of Ramadan and celebrate Eid, we are hosting a special Eid Party during Period 5 on Friday. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to come together. To all our families celebrating, we wish you a joyous and blessed Eid Mubarak!

Year 10 – Mr J Roper

WOW....What a fantastic week for the year group. We have both loved going out into the community and visiting lots of the students on their placement. From Primary schools, Law firms, Food preparation centres, Commercial Offices, Shops and Charity organisations all the feedback from staff has been fantastic - the pupils have represented themselves so well. We really feel that the pupils have gained so much from their experiences. In school we have also really enjoyed having the students taking part in workshops and activities, again the feedback from the staff delivering these sessions has been overwhelmingly positive, especially from the organisation that ran the business and sports leadership workshops.

The end of the week will see the pupils complete their 'Mock' interview process which will be a great opportunity to share all their experiences and take part in an interview process.

Thank you for all your support with this week in ensuring that you child made their placement/school at the right time and have been fully engaged in the process from start to finish.

Enjoy the weekend.

Mr Roper & Ms Renshaw

Year 11 – Mr J Rooza

I have been incredibly pleased to see so many students taking full advantage of Review Week to receive valuable feedback from their teachers. This feedback is a vital tool for progress, and now is the time to act on it. In these final weeks, refining answers, improving exam technique, and closing any gaps in knowledge will make a real difference. Students should use this opportunity wisely to strengthen your understanding and boost their performance.

A reminder about Easter Revision School. This is a key opportunity for students to boost their grades. Living the value of participation means taking advantage of every opportunity offered and giving 100% effort. The Easter revision schedule has already been emailed to students. Please make sure they know when their sessions are and turn up ready to work hard. These sessions could make all the difference!

We are now in the crucial final stretch, with less than 18 school days remain before the first GCSE exam. Time is of the essence, and every single day counts. This is the moment to maximise revision, fine-tune exam strategies, and ensure that every effort is made towards excellence.

To all our students and families celebrating this weekend, Eid Mubarak! May it be a time of happiness, reflection, and togetherness.

Mr Rooza and Mrs Costello
