Principal’s Message for Week B, wb 20th January 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a busy week at school with a visit from the Department of Education on Monday, a wonderful Year 8 Parent’s Evening on Tuesday and lots of excellent lessons!
We continue to support our students to develop the scholarly habits that will support them now in their studies and later in life. We are currently focusing on student planners as a communication tool with home and asking our teachers to ensure our scholars are recording homework and keeping their reward sticker CAPs in there. Please do check your child’s planner every day and continue to discuss their day’s learning and whatever reading book they currently have.
House Music Competition
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming House Music Competition, a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and musical fun. This exciting event gives students the chance to showcase their talents and represent their house in style!
The Themes:
Auxilium: 1970s
Civitas: 1980s
Simul: 1990s
Final Event: Wednesday, 13th February 2025, 3:15 PM in the School Theatre
How It Works:
Each house will create a group performance inspired by their decade’s music.
Performances must capture the spirit of the decade, include as many participants as possible, and feature lip syncing that brings iconic artists to life.
Individual creative performances can also be submitted by w/c 3rd February 2025, with these exciting themes:
70s: Funky disco groove on the electric guitar
80s: Emotional ballad (real or lip sync)
90s: Rap about revision at MEA Central
We encourage every student to get involved—whether by singing, dancing, or helping behind the scenes. The more participants, the stronger the house performance. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to express themselves, build confidence, and contribute to their house’s success. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s Head of House. We can’t wait to see the creativity and talent of our students shine!
